New Job!

So, I started my new job today with the City of Orem, doing park maintenance at the Nielsen's Grove Park on S. Sandhill Road. So far it seems like a great job and I am working with a great group of guys. Today for my first day we went to the Orem City Library and tore out a tree stump. After we tore the stump out we went back to the park and I spent a while doing paper work and learning about the equipment I will be using. At 10 a.m. I had to take a city truck up to the City Center to do orientation, it was quite entertaining, another person also had to do orientation today, so for orientation we had to watch a video about sexual harassment and fill out some paperwork, all of this took about 25 minutes, fastest orientation ever, FANTASTIC!!!
After I finished orientation I was introduced to my new ride, a sweet Kubota RTV 900. This baby is a diesel and has four wheel drive. Pretty much the greatest thing since sliced bread!

You know you're jealous!!!
For the rest of the day i drove this bad boy around the park and fixed broken sprinklers. And that was my first day! Pretty sweet huh?

this crazy night!

so tonight was quite the weird night. i have been not feeling well at all for the past couple days, but tonight i still feel crappy. anyways, thats not why tonight was crazy. some friends and i decided we were going to go to taco bell at like 1030, so we are walking out to the car when we hear this loud crash. I looked over to see this huge truck pulling at least a 25 foot car hauler side swipe three cars on the street in front of my apartment. so, you would expect this person to stop and leave information, but no!
He ran for it!
So a couple of my buddies jumped in their car and took off after him and i went to see whos cars got hit. two cars of people we dont know got hit, and then my neighbors truck got hit the worst. So back to the two guys that took off, they followed the smoke cause he blew out a tire and caught up to him and called the cops and told them where they were and what happened. Three cop cars showed up and the guy tried to run from them. turns out he was drunk and ran for a couple miles and then decided against it. so, moral of the story is dont mess with king henry apts. we are a tight knit group and if you mess with one of us we will chase you down and call the cops. haha.

Raccoon Hunting.

So, thursday night some friends and I decided to do some raccoon hunting. We went up to Heber City, UT where my buddy had done a little scouting and saw a few coons for us to shoot. We headed up there at about 8 p.m. or so just before dark. We got to where we wanted and decided to head down this dirt road to get away from the street. We got to the top of this hill and it was all snow down the backside of it so one of my buddies got out to see if we could make it. I'll have it be known that i clearly stated that it wasn't a good idea to go down it; but what do i know I'm a retard. Anyways, no one listened to me so we headed down it and got stuck in two feet of snow an hour drive from Provo. (bad news bears, i know.) My buddy Tuck called a kid in Heber that he knows well and asked him if he could come pull us out. About an hour later he rolls up in a Toyota Tacoma, and immediately knew he couldn't pull us out. The road we were on looped around so he decided to go around and try anyways. Just as we suspected it wasn't happening that tacoma wasn't even budging us at all. Tuck's friend decided he was going to go get his step dads big diesel. So, he had a friend come pick him up because at this point its like 2 a.m. and there are two trucks stuck. At about 3 a.m. they get back with the diesel and pull down to where he thinks he can get a good pull on our truck to get us out. Needless to say he pulled down the hill too far and got stuck. At this point I was exhausted, one of my new years resolutions was to stop swearing and having three trucks stuck at 3:30 in the morning wasn't helping that out at all; but somehow four of us pushed a Ford F-350 Turbo Diesel up this hill. We then hooked our truck up to it and started to pull it out. Everything was going great until the tow strap snapped like a twig. We tied it back together and it just kept snapping right where we tied it. Once again, new years resolution not going so well. We decided to drive into Heber to see if Smith's had anything, no luck. We found a chain at a construction site and proceeded to "borrow" it. By the time we got back to where the trucks were it was starting to get light, somewhere around 5 a.m. We hooked up our chain and got our truck out. We were ecstatic, yelling and screaming, for joy obviously. Two down one to go! The other truck was no big deal to pull out but by the time we pulled it out and got back into Provo it was 7:30 a.m. I had to go take a drug test for work, so i went and did that and went back to my apartment to go to sleep and when i got there found out my stupid electronic key didn't work. I was so tired i was about to sleep on the patio, but luckily my Mom lives less than a mile from me so i went there and slept in her bed.
Total Time Spent Stuck
9 hours!!!!!

Skateboarding.

Most of people who know me well know I love to go fast on pretty much everything. This includes but is not limited to my longboard. I live very close to seven peaks blvd. here in Provo and my friends and I will frequently board down the hill. Up until recently this has satisfied my need for speed. I have been on a quest to find a bigger, faster hill, well, I found one. While we were looking for one, one of my friends told me about a hill that was very long and very fast so I decided to scope it out. He must be nuts I could easily get going over 60 miles per hour down this hill, and that is even a little too fast for me. So, the quest continued and we were driving through the neighborhoods in the foothills looking for something bigger and faster without a lot of luck. Until we were by the temple, I decided to go down Templeview Drive, it is a steep hill that is very fast and ends at the entrance to the MTC. I proceeded to carve this hill when i realized it was way too rough to be able to make it to the bottom. I knew I had to turn onto the street below the temple or I was going to crash hard. So, as I got closer to the street i started to carve harder to try and scrub off speed then made my attempt at the corner. My board was sliding sideways.... don't worry I was still on it, but needless to say, I'm still looking for my hill.
